Description
This is one of a series of rare or sealed LPs and EPs that I will be listing over the next several weeks.
This item is a very rare import vinyl LP pressing of the album Please Please Me by the Beatles. This particular pressing is from a series released in Japan in 1987 on red vinyl, under cat# EAS-70130. As a Beatles fan for as long as I can remember – and I can remember seeing Help! at a drive-in movie theatre during its original release in 1965 – I have amassed a large Beatles collection. As a teenager, though, I had access to a great record store that also stocked import LPs. So, I became a Beatles snob, collecting the British releases (which, at least over the releases until Sgt Pepper’s, differed dramatically from the US releases) and other interesting and/or rare import releases. In fact, I still think of the albums in their UK configurations, not in their US tracklists. This mono pressing was a limited edition – I have seen both 5,000 and 10,000 pieces cited as the number pressed – but I can tell you that they are all quite rare. I have never even seen another pressing of this version in my life, and I have spent a lot of time over many years in a lot of record stores. The album contains the original lyrics sheet but, unfortunately, not the OBI strip.
Both the vinyl and the cover are in excellent to near-mint condition, as shown in the photo.
I do not use stock pictures. The photo shows the actual item up for auction.
I am not a dealer, and all of the items I list for auction are from my personal collection gathered over the past forty years (education expenses – and soon-to-be college expenses -- are the reason I am selling my collection...). The shipping costs are $4.00 via media mail to anywhere in the U.S. I will always combine records from multiple auctions, and each additional record is $0.40 for media mail shipping in the US. If there are additional records you wish to bid on, just drop me a line and I will send an updated invoice when the auctions have all ended. If you prefer, I can also send the record by Priority Mail within the U.S. as well. The cost of Priority Mail is a function of weight and postal zone, and I will provide the cost for Priority Mail in my post-auction invoice. I can also provide it while the auction is pending through My Messages in eBay. Insurance through the USPS and delivery confirmation through the USPS are also available – my post-auction invoice will provide the insurance cost, and delivery confirmation is an additional $0.75. If you are outside the US, the two basic types of shipping are 1st Class International and Priority International (much more costly, but only slightly faster -- I recommend 1st Class). International postage costs are also a function of weight and distance. I will provide the cost for both options in my post-auction invoice (and, again, I can provide you with the shipping cost upon request through My Messages in eBay). Once again, I will always combine items so that your shipping costs will be less expensive. Payment is now only permitted by eBay through Paypal. I would ask that all items be paid for within fifteen (15) days of the end of the auction. If I do not receive payment within that period and do not hear from you in response to my invoice, I will consider the auction results void and relist the item(s).
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail me through My Messages in eBay.
