THE BEATLES :- Please Please Me - Original 1963 UK GOLD / BLACK Parlophone PMC 1202 MONO LP complete with polylined Emitex Liner Sleeve , and EJ Day Sleeve

A very rare label variation ............. please read on ...............

The first issues of this album came with labels stating 'Dick James Mus. Co.' publishing credit for the songs - I Saw Her Standing There / Misery / Ask Me Why / Please Please Me / Do You Want To Know A Secret / There's A Place           

It was then noticed that although Ask Me Why / Please Please Me / Do You Want To Know A Secret / There's A Place were correctly listed with 'Dick James Mus.Co.' publishing credits , 'Northern Songs Ltd' had already been formed to publish all subsequent Lennon - McCartney Songs.....

So label printing was restarted , this time with the correct music publisher credited to 'Northern Songs Ltd' for the four songs - I Saw Her Standing There / Misery / Do You Want To Know A Secret / There's A Place

Here is a very scarce 'transition' copy containing Side One tracks with Northern Songs Ltd on Side One label

and Dick James Mus.Co. on Side Two Label

The album comes with the correct '2nd' EJ Day sleeve , which has the large MONO print being to the extreme edge of the sleeve opening ( not a manufacture trimming error ) but actually printed further along ( 2 and 5/16 of an inch ) from the Please Please Me* The Beatles ( see photo ) on the sleeve top border.............---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Condition of Vinyl:- The disc has been well played , and some surface wear is evident ................ There are a few marks on both sides of the disc , but the disc plays through quite well , with no jumps or skips ......... some surface noise is present , but mainly between tracks : The Disc is Graded at overall VERY GOOD condition.

Label Condition:- The labels have wear evident , with a few scuffs .......... There is wear around the spindle centres : The labels are Carefully Graded in the region of GOOD to VERY GOOD condition . Most would grade higher .....

Condition of Sleeve:-

Front: The front laminate has light use .......... with only a few very mild wrinkles ............ There is a very light ring impression

Rear: The rear of the sleeve has light use , some ageing .......... a little 'foxing' ................ Very nice flips , a little scuffing at top left hand corner flip

Minor signs of edge rub ........... Very nice spine ............... some light corner wear

I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as 'Stunning!! Rare!! Awsome!!, padded out with grossly long winded descriptions , many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and incorrect to actual facts , and would be laughable , but for the fact that it is misleading........ I take time and care to grade items correctly and only list quality records, with concise and accurate grading descriptions......................

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists live too (I saw The Beatles twice........and Segovia!)
