THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE BEATLES 1963 STEREO LP "PLEASE PLEASE ME" WITH IT'S ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE.NO TAX CODE ON THE SIDE 2 LABEL.RARE CROSSOVER LABELS WITH NORTHERN SONGS / DICK JAMES CREDITS FOR THE SIX LENNON/McCARTNEY SONGS AND EARLY 1/1 STAMPERS.ALSO A 1ST PRESS SLEEVE.ALL INDICATING A VERY EARLY 1ST PRESSING.
This is the mega rare 1st pressing with the black & gold labels.First press E.J.Day sleeve.Parlophone co Ltd edge text,stereo,small 331/3 on each label.1st pressing YEX 94-1 and YEX 95-1 matrixs and very early 1G / 1R stamper codes.There is also no tax code on the side 2 label.This is very rare and means this is one of the first 300 pressed.Even the sleeve has the Angus McBean photo credit to the far right.Also remember that this early stereo pressing is the only one where you hear "john" sing the wrong lyrics at the end of please please me and laugh about it.You do not get this on the mono black gold !!!
The vinyl does have quite a few surface marks on each,but these are not deep and do not affect the sound quality much.The sound is still great.This is a very playable record and a pleasure to listen to.Both sides still retain a good shine and lustre.There is some crackle and a few very light pop's in the quieter of passages.There is also a bit of crackle between tracks.I would grade it very good ++/excellent -.There are NO sticks NO jumps and NO repeats.The black gold stereo labels have some spindle wear and there are light marks on the labels.Both of the labels are nice and clean and bright and fully readable.There is NO tax code on the side 2 label which is amazingly rare.This a very very early pressing and was probably one of the first off the press with the corrected and rarer labels.The matrix codes are YEX 94-1 and YEX 95-1.The very early stamper codes are 1G and 1R.The 1st pressing front laminated E.J.DAY sleeve is in excellent condition with the Angus McBean credit to the far right corner.These 1st pressing stereo sleeves are rare and hard to find.The front is still clean and bright with a good shine from the laminate with just some very light disc impression on the right side (only notice-able when held up to a light).There are some short hairlines around the edges.The rear is still very clean bright and white and fully readable with a some very light disc impression.All three flipbacks are still clean and bright with some light hairlines.The bottom flipback has some loss to the far right 2inches.You can still see that it was made by E.J.DAY & Co.There is no colouring or pen marks on either the front or back.The top and bottom edge's are still straight and true with some colour loss.The spine is straight and true and fully readable.The corners do have a little bumping and colour loss.The bottom right corner does have a 15mm split under the photo credit.The original die cut inner sleeve is in excellent condition with just some light corner creases.There is NO pen and NO colouring either side.It is clean bright and white with NO splits and NO tears.This would make a great addition to any beatle collection and is still a very playable record and will only increase in value.
THIS IS A MUST FOR ANY BEATLES FAN OR COLLECTOR OF 60's MUSIC.THESE 1ST PRESSING'S ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND BUT TO FIND ONE WITH 1/1 MATRIXS,EARLY 1G 1R STAMPER CODES,NO TAX CODE ON SIDE 2 AND IN A 1ST PRESS SLEEVE WITH THE ANGUS McBEAN PHOTO CREDIT IN THE FAR RIGHT CORNER IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE.THIS IS ONE OF THE 1ST 300 PRESSED WITH THE RAREST AND CORRECTED LABELS.THIS MAY BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO GET A VERY VERY EARLY 1ST PRESSING WITH "JOHN" SINGING THE WRONG LYRICS ON PLEASE PLEASE ME !!! DO NOT MISS OUT!!!
