WINGS / PAUL McCARTNEY "BACK TO THE EGG" GENUINE PICTURE DISC. PCTCP257
In 1979, to promote the then new LP "BACK TO THE EGG" two hundred picture discs were made to be given to McCartney's family, friends, staff at MPL (McCartney Publishing Limited) and, lastly to the press! Rumour has it that a hundred were reserved for the press launch but when the big hand-out was announced, it was found that they had been left in a taxi! True or not we do not know but, we do know that this is one of the most desirable pieces of Macca memorabilia, it also looks absolutely fabulous!!
It has to be said that, in common with the world's rarest records, there have been some forgeries and fakes: this is certainly not one! Check these facts out:
It has the correct pressed matrix number in the run-out grooves (YEX 988): it has a square, closely fitted inner plastic cover: The cards cover is diecut with a circle in the front: The spine is printed: and, one other thing the forgers could not get right, the picture disc when it is placed in the cover exactly matches the cover design, fakes have the cover printed far too small (and with no spine print and in thin card!).
Rest assured this is 100% genuine and the absolute pinacle in a Beatles / Mc Cartney collection.
It is also, completely mint!
