Original authentic version 2 STEREO copy of Vee-Jay Record's "Introducing The Beatles".  Feb. 1964. Spizer version VJ 1062(2).SR2A. This is the rarer version of the 3 version 2 stereo bracket-logo labels with "STEREO" printed at the top (12 O'clock) position above the VJ bracket's logo. The more common versions have "stereo" printed on either side of the VJ logo or below "Side". 

This is version 2 with "Please Please Me" and "Ask Me Why" instead of "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You". Due to lawsuits with Capitol Records in Jan. 1964, VeeJay had to quickly retool this LP because of contractual issues because of including "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" on the original 10 Jan. 1964 release (version 1). The master that this copy was pressed from was created on "1-24-64" (as viewed etched in the runout) just 4 days after Capitol Record's "Meet The Beatles" was released!

This is the most counterfeited record in history.. but this is the real deal. It meets all of the qualifications of an authentic VJ copy. The vast majority of the copies of this stereo record on Ebay (and other sites) are counterfeits aka 'fake' (erroneously called "re-issues").

I use the visual grading standards of the Cox/Daniels "Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" (6th edition). These grading standards tend to be more stringent (and, due to this, are graded slightly lower) than Goldmine. See my various photos of the cover and record.  I grade conservatively using a bright light so the buyer knows exactly what they are bidding on.

Record - VG
Various scratches (none deep), hairlines, and scuffs. The record plays completely through with no skips. It actually sounds very good for 54 years old! VeeJay was known for their high quality Stereo records. "URJ" and "1-24-64" are etched in the run out. This copy was manufactured under contract from VeeJay Records by ARC. Spindle marks on the labels.. more on side 1 than 2.

Cover - VG+
Minor shelf wear on the front/rear especially near the center bottom (front) which is common for this LP. Slight wear (foxing) along the top and bottom seams but no seam splits. The cardboard cover is still together. Very faint name in red ink above "TLE" on the front cover. "5-498" written in very faint pencil at the top right corner of the rear. Spine is intact and readable other than a few minor bumps. No mold or water stains.
