Description

Up for auction is a copy of Help! backed with I’m Down, by The Beatles, released in 1965 on Parlophone, cat no R 5305. This is a rare copy with a solid centre, rather than the more common push out centre. Information on these rare variations is vague, but it’s assumed that they were pressed sometime around 1967-68, although curiously this single has original 1965 labels featuring an unusual “chubby” typeface, and “Parlophone Co Ltd” rim text. Highly obscure and very collectible, as not many people were buying 1965 Beatles singles in 1968...

Condition: there are some minor surface marks on the vinyl, and some spindle trails on the labels, but nothing serious or “feelable”. Both sides sound great & play fine, and there is no damage or writing on either label. An easy VG+.

My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item pictured here is the item for sale.
