Description

"I LIKE A BIT OF SURFACE NOISE - BECAUSE LIFE HAS SURFACE NOISE" - JOHN PEEL (1939-2004)

DESPITE THE PRECISION OF A CD, IT IS HARD TO BEAT THE RICH, ORGANIC SOUND OF VINYL

THE BEATLES  - BEATLES FOR SALE - VINYL LP 1964 RARE

RARE 1964 UK STEREO 1ST PRESS LP. HOUSED IN LAMINATED GATEFOLD PICTURE SLEEVE WITH OUTLINE 'STEREO' ON THE FRONT, ORIGINAL EMITEX PVC LINED INNER, AND ON THE YELLOW / BLACK PARLOPHONE LABEL WITH 'PARLOPHONE CO..' , 'SOLD IN THE UK...' AND 'RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964' TEXT. MATRICES YEX.142/3

SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE ESPECIALLY FOR ITS AGE. THERE ARE NO SPLITS, TEARS OR GRAFFITI. MINIMAL WEAR IN THE FORM OF A LITTLE EDGE WEAR, AND SOME FEATHERING ALONG THE FRONT RIGHT GATEFOLD EDGE. A FEW VERY MINOR LAMINATE CREASES. NICE WIDE SPINE WITH TEXT CLEARLY READABLE AND UNDAMAGED. NICE SOLID COPY.

THE VINYL IS ALSO IN GREAT SHAPE. THERE ARE SOME BARELY VISIBLE HAIR-FINE MARKS VISIBLE UNDER STRONG BRIGHT LIGHT. TOWARDS THE END OF SIDE TWO THERE IS A SMALL LIGHT SCRATCH WHICH CAUSES A FEW CLICKS TOWARDS THE END OF 'WHAT YOU'RE DOING', AND BEGINNING OF 'EVERYBODY'S TRYING TO BE MY BABY', BUT APART FROM THIS THE LP PLAYS SUPERBLY, WITH MINIMAL SURFACE NOISE BETWEEN TRACKS. LOVELY COPY.

CAT No. PCS 3062

GRADING

I try to describe items as accurately as possible. I will sometimes use a grading (e.g. EX, NM etc.). This grading is based on the 'Record Collector' Grading System. To assist those unfamiliar with it I include the following table:

MINT

Record and sleeve are in brand new condition, no marks or deterioration. I will describe sealed or unplayed items as MINT. (N.B. If a record appears MINT but I know it has been played – even only once – I will describe it as NEAR MINT or NM)

EXCELLENT

Record shows signs of having been played, but there is little lessening of sound quality. Cover/Packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing (N.B. my use of EX+, or EX- denotes higher or lower end of this bracket e.g. EX+ may only just fall below NM)

VERY GOOD

The record has obviously been played many times, no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. There will be normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items. (N.B. use of VG+, or VG- denotes higher or lower end of this bracket)

GOOD

The record has been played so much  that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents have folding, spine splits, scuffing, discolouration etc. (N.B. I will not usually list vinyl in this condition unless it is particularly rare and sought after – and I will describe the condition as thoroughly as possible)

FAIR, POOR, BAD

I will not usually list items in these categories unless they are extremely rare and sought after – if I do I will describe them thoroughly)

MY POLICY

1. First and foremost - I always offer a REFUND of both item cost and postage (on return of goods) if a buyer is not satisfied with the item.

2. I try to describe each item as accurately as possible, rather than just give it a generic grading which could be interpreted in different ways. (If I do give a grading as a guide then I use the table above.) I visually grade every record, but I play every record that does not appear EXCELLENT or above. I generally do not list records which jump/skip, and if I do then I will state this in the description.

3. I do NOT charge extra for Paypal transactions.

4. I prefer payments by Paypal, personal cheque or UK postal orders.

5. PLEASE contact me if you have payment issues. Obviously I prefer a quick payment, which usually guarantees despatch of item in the next available post, but I am fairly flexible as long as I know payment is coming. I hate having to leave negative feedback, or non paying buyer alerts, but I will if necessary.

5. I do NOT attempt to make a profit on postage. I post at cost, with packaging costs added. I always pack records in plastic sleeves, with card stiffeners, and in sturdy mailers, taped with FRAGILE printed tape.

6. I ALWAYS provide feedback, and really appreciate feedback in return.

Thank you for looking at my item.
