Description

Beatles for Sale LP by The Beatles STEREO PCS 3062

This ***STEREO*** Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd' label rim text, and with 'Sold in UK...' and 'Made in Gt. Britain' label text. The Vinyl Disc comes in a plain inner bag, and is housed in its Original 1st issue Laminated Garrod and Lofthouse Gatefold sleeve.

SLEEVE

On the front of the Garrod and Lofthouse Gatefold sleeve, there isa bit of creasing and light ringwear, and some damage to the laminate at the bottom right hand corner. The spine has a few nicks to the laminate, but the white is lovely and clean, with the words 'Beatles for Sale' crystal clear. On the back of the gatefold, there is very little creasing or ringwear. On the inside, the matt black areas are in nice condition, and the two flipbacks are perfect. I would grade the sleeve as ***VERY GOOD/EXCELLENT*** .

INNER

The plain white inner has just some creasing at the corners, andslight yellowing. There are NO tears and NO handwriting. This is graded as ***EXCELLENT*** .

LABELS

These are the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone labels, with 'Sold in UK...'text, and 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd' label rim text. Both sides have only just a little bit of spindle wear. They have NO centre hole scuffing. The 'KT' tax code is present on Side 1. My grading of the labels is ***EXCELLENT+*** .

VINYL

Matrix Numbers and Stamper Codes

Side 1

Matrix YEX 142 - 1 Stampers '4' at 9 o'clock and 'OR' at 9 o'clock

Side 2

Matrix YEX - 143 -1 Stampers '5' at 9 o'clock and 'OM' at 3 o'clock

The vinyl is graded as VERY GOOD. It still retains its sheen, but there are a lot of light surface scratches and scuffs on each side.

AUDIO

The record does have quite a few crackles, but these are mainly in evidence on the 'silent' bands between the tracks. It is audible in places on 'I'll Follow the Sun' and 'Mr Moonlight', and at the beginning of 'No Reply'. However, ther are NO jumps and NO skips, and the overall sound is strong and clear. The guitar riffs on 'Honey Don't' and 'Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby' are SUPERB. I would grade the audio on side 1 as VERY GOODside 2 as GOOD.

This great Beatles Album, on the rarerSTEREO format, is being offered at an INCREDIBLY LOW starting price!!

I am privileged in having very sensitive Hi-Fi equipment, which clearly shows up any flaws, so I feel that I am able to grade records accurately.
