If you've been looking for a unique "Half and Half" (Half 2nd State Unpeeled/Half 3rd State Peeled) LA #6 Butcher Cover that is affordable, then this one might be for you. " Paul Is Dead" conspiracy theorists that point to Paul being confined to the trunk will love the fact that Paul is the only one that remains on the trunk cover portion of the 2nd state slick that was hastily pasted over back in 1966 by Capitol Records in order to cover the offensive Butcher Slick. All four Beatles faces are clearly visible on the top portion of the original Butcher Cover slick.  
While there is some commonly seen general condition issues on this jacket, this would still look great in a frame and won't cause you to skip your mortgage to purchase. Certainly the lowest priced genuine Butcher Cover on the net that presents this well. Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition. 
Finding a peeled West Coast Butcher Cover that doesn't look like it's ready for the trash can is not an easy task. If you always wanted a real Butcher Cover but didn't want to spend over $800 to 2k or more, then this might be for you ! 
This is a unique "Half and Half" peeled Butcher Cover is specifically for somebody who may want the best of both worlds in one jacket (peeled and unpeeled). We will offer this for a limited time as a "half and half" Butcher Cover. A word of warning though, please don't attempt to finish completing this peel this if you are not experienced in the "Super Glue" Los Angeles jackets as most have been destroyed this way. 
Most LA designated 2nd state trunk covers were adhered by the Modern Album Company during the paste over process with a difficult to remove adhesive. For every nice one that exists, there are probably a thousand bad to mediocre peels. Most of the severely damaged 3rd state covers you see on the internet for sale are improperly peeled LA Jackets.  While this is not an absolutely perfect peel (most professionally peeled LA Butcher Covers aren't !) and the jacket has some wear and seam issues, this won't cost you over $800 or more and if one were to get this professionally framed, it would look just about as nice as a far more expensive peel costing hundreds more. Look around and compare. Perhaps not for the super picky collector, but that special someone who wants a real Butcher Cover that is unique (half peeled) for a reachable price that still presents well. While the market is currently getting flooded with overhyped peels with large obvious large scars/damage, the good news for buyers is that this is one of the more affordable/obtainable peels out there for under $800 that still presents nicely that won't make you empty your bank account. Such is the case here and this jacket offers quite a decent bang for the buck ! These Los Angeles covers with the notorious factory super glue have been destroyed by the thousands and continue to be destroyed through amateur peeling attempts. Due to the difficulty of the peel, these LA Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition. This one is better than what is usually seen out there in this price range. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description.

Condition: 
Front of Jacket:

Front Peeled Butcher Slick presents nicely overall with the exception of some very minor pinpoint touched up spots that don't take away from the overall nice appearance.There is some light aging/moisture discoloration in the top right area just under the Capitol logo (See closeup photo of this area). Not terrible though. Minor corner crease on bottom right hand corner of original trunk cover. 
This cover could be easily be professionally matted and framed and this would look just about as nice as a much most costly peel. The good news is that this colorful and respectable #6 Butcher Cover could be yours for under $800. As you can see from the photos, nothing from the peeling process (glue residue, minute pinpoint touch up to tiny abrasions, etc) detracts greatly from the awesome presentation of this jacket. This is unusual from what is generally offered on these specific jackets.Take a look and judge for yourself. 90% of these tough to peel jackets are destroyed with huge tears and other damage from amateur peeling.

Seams: 
Top and bottom seam appear to be professionally mended for several inches with archival linen type paper tape (see photos of close up of opened mouth). Both seams appears to be secure. (see seam photos). To protect what remains of the seams, a record should never be attempted to be forced into this jacket. 
Spine: 
Spine shows most of the printing on top half still present although there is cracking and balding on the bottom half of the spine. These areas appear to be adhered and not loose. (See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:  
The back of the jacket shows general and average light wear, tanning and some staining. Nothing out of the ordinary for a nearly 60 year old album jacket. (see photo of back of jacket). 
Trunk Slick: 
Sorry but there is no top portion of removed trunk slick included. The bottom half of the trunk slick is still attached to the jacket as it was back in 1966 (as seen in photos). 
Record/Inner Sleeve: 
Comes complete with West Coast mono pressing in Fair condition with lots of scratches and scuffs visible (plays through a lot better than it looks with light to moderate background noise but no major skips or other issues). Obviously this was well loved back in the day and played quite a few times but certainly not handled like an audiophile example ! Sorry but there is No Capitol Inner Sleeve with this one.
