A distanza di oltre 40 (quaranta!) anni, il disco e' ancora un' indiscutibile delizia per le orecchie, con una freschezza un' energia ed una quantita' di invenzioni che francamente non trovano paragoni, almeno nel 1964, il suono del disco e' eccitante e vitale, e le composizioni di Lennon e McCartney sono oramai un' altra cosa dallo splendido Merseybeat del 1963, il disco contiene episodi quali "Can't Buy Me Love" o "Any Time at All", "If I Fell", il proto folk-rock di "I'll Cry Instead", la magnifica ''And I Love Her'', "I Shouldn' t Have Know Better'', ''Can't Buy Me Love'', "A Hard Day' s Night'', "Things We Said Today'', solo per citarne alcune, e' qusto il testamento emozionale della collaborazione compositiva tra Lennon e McCartney, che di li' a poco inizieranno a scrivere separatamente anche se i brani continueranno ad essere pubblicati sotto la sigla di coppia, vi e' solo un brano cantato da George, "I'm Happy Just to Dance With You", che pero' contribuisce in maniera determinante al disco con il suono della rickembacker a 12 corde elettrica appena acquistata, e non ve ne e' nessuno con la voce di Ringo, che pero' fu il piu' appaludito come attore. Molto piu' della musica per un film, quindi, e forse e' proprio questo il vero vertice artistico della prima fase della loro carriera, qui ancora lontana dagli ''studio years'' che li consacreranno come una delle icone assolute del secolo passato.
