Description
These are 5-12" BBC Transcription discs of a complete Henry Wood Promenade Ccncert in 1957, with the BBC Symphony, Sir Malcolm Sargent, and Myra Hess, piano. Included is Wasps Ovt. by Vaughan-Williams, Beethoven's Emperor Concerto, Leighton's Cello Concerto with Florence Hooton, cl, and Shostakovitch's Symphony No. 5. The Leighton is conducted by the composer. Discs appear to be excellent with a few ticks (common to these transcriptions), and continuity sheets are provided. EXTREMELY RARE
