The Jam celebrated their fifth anniversary as a recording band with their sixth album hit The Gift and by taking the top place in five categories of the new musical express readers poll- best group, bestbass, best guitar, best drums and No.1 songwriter. The trio of Paul weller, Rick Buckler and Bruce Foxton began recording as The Jam in 1977. Their first single In the City barely made the top forty but the album of the same title became a best sellerand their next two sinlges All around the world and the modern world were both top twenty hits. All this happened at at time when the punk scene was sweeping British rock but the jam proved to be more than just another aggressive band. Like most bands with staying power they had something special in their ability to communicate with a new generation of rock fans. Performance which features songs from the album "The Gift" recorded at the Hippodrome, Golders Green, London.

INSTINCTION/CHANT No.1
Spandau Ballet are a London-based five piece who charted regularly with singles and released a couple of gold albums in the space of two years. Spandau ballet were the first band to come out of a late 70's explosion of pop culture centred round some of Soho's fashion conscious clubs. At first it seemed that the image and being a part of the trendy scene was more important than the music. But the band did develop and break new ground, both as tend-setters on the fashion front and with a brand of synthesizers disco music which attracted a growing following. Performance which includes a selection of Spandau Ballet hits recorded at the Winter Gardens in Bournemouth..
Genuine original, made for broadcast lp record set. Sound quality is superb. Very few of these were pressed. very hard to comeby.. A must have LP for serious collector.
