BBC 78 LP Records from the 1940’s x 28
These 78’s, dated from the 1940’s were salvaged from the basement of BBC Broadcasting House by my father when he worked there in the 1960’s then stored in his garage where I came across them after his death.
Some are in a very poor state and may be unusable but others look salvageable or partially salvageable to the right person.
This will need someone with the right equipment and knowledge to get anything useful from them.
There are some interesting names written on them e.g. President Roosevelt, Glen Miller and Frank Sinatra but without playing them it is unclear what is on them.
I do not have equipment that will play them and have offered them to the BBC but they do not seem very interested.
They are very heavy made by layering some sort of plastic on steel plates) and would be costly to post but happy to keep them for collection. Occasionally I go to London so could meet someone at a mutually convenient place.
