BARRY STANTON CUSTOM/ALTERNATE/ PRESLEY=TEENAGE IDOL
Custom pressing comprising two songs by different artists on Leedon. The first is “Where Mary Go’ by the Fauns which- as far as I know- is the same version that was released. The second is an alternate version of ‘Teenage Idol’ that was released by Barry Stanton (Australia’s Elvis). On the released version, there is a heavy girlie chorus. In the middle of the song, it goes on for some time just chanting a refrain. On this version here, the chanting is virtually removed. Barry sings pretty much unimpeded straight through. Interestingly enough, the custom demo is Emidisc from Britain. My theory is that there was a move to see if a company in Britain was interested in releasing either or both of these tracks. Although the chanting doesn’t exactly kill the released version, it sure doesn’t help it much and that’s why this version has been done. It’s got a few marks but plays fine.
CONDITION WISE:
Record: VG+
MINT: Brand new condition, no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: Slight signs of having been played, no lessening of sound quality. Cover, label, extras are good.
VERY GOOD: played quite a few times, no real deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras slight amount of wear and tear.
GOOD: showing some wear and tear. Reasonable, playable sound. No major defects in record, cover, label, extras.
FAIR: Sound quality deteriorated. Cover, label, extras display folding, scuffing, marks. .
