Description

This is a very rare demo record that was released by the stereo equipment manufacturer Bang & Olufsen. It is titled simply "Stereo Test And Demonstration" (B&O 3621003). ------ There is no date on it, so I don't know when this was released, but I would guess in the 1970's. ------- It consists of mostly classical selections, but there are a couple of non-classical cuts as well as the test tone material. The selections are as follows: Side 1 - 1. (Bizet) Carmen Overture - Orchestra du Theatre National de La Opear Paris, 2.-12 Audio System Test Signals, 13. (J.S. Bach) Kantate BWV - Choir Of Kings Collage - St. Martin-in-the-fields, David Willcocks, cond. ----- Side 2 - 1. 1st Movement - The Electric Light Orchestra, 2. (Britten) Young Persons Guide To The Orchestra - percussion extract - The Philharmonic Orchestra, Carlo Maria Giulini, cond., 3. (Elgar) Where Corals Lie - Janet Baker + The London Symphony Orchestra, Sir John Barbirolli, cond., 4. (Ellington) Rockin' In Rhythm - Ben Webster-sax, Jacques Schols - bass. ---- All selections are from the EMI + Angel cataloges. --------------------------------------------------- The record plays with some light surface noise, but there are no scratches or marks on the vinyl. There are no spindle marks on the labels. The gatefold jacket shows some shelf wear, but there are no splits or bends.
