COMMENT... HERE WE HAVE ON OFFER AN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL U.K. FIRST PRESS OF BAKERLOO'S ONE AND ONLY ALBUM FROM 1969 SIMPLY TITLED "BAKERLOO". THIS TAMWORTH BASED OUTFIT WERE ORIGINALLY CALLED THE BAKERLOO BLUES LINE AND TWO OF THE MEMBERS KEITH BAKER (Drums) & TERRY POOLE (Bass) HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN WITH ANOTHER PROGRESSIVE OUTFIT BY THE NAME OF "MAY BLITZ". THE THIRD MEMBER OF THE TRIO WAS NON OTHER THAN A YOUNG DAVE "CLEM" CLEMPSON (Guitar / Vocals) AND DURING THEIR SHORT CAREER THEY MANAGED TO RECORD THIS EXCELLENT BRITISH PROG / BLUES ALBUM AS WELL AS APPEARING AS THE SUPPORT ON LED ZEPPELIN'S DEBUT AT THE MARQUEE. WHEN THE BAND SPLIT-UP CLEMPSON ACCEPTED AN OFFER TO JOIN COLOSSEUM BEFORE EVENTUALLY JOINING STADIUM FILLER'S HUMBLE PIE. KEITH BAKER WOULD WORK WITH URIAH HEAP BEFORE AGAIN TEAMING UP WITH TERRY POOLE TO WORK WITH GRAHAM BOND... NOW THIS ALL HAPPENED A LONG LONG TIME AGO AND OUR ONLY LEGACY IS THEIR RARE ALBUM RELEASE AND THIS A FABULOUS EXAMPLE OF IT BEING IN ABSOLUTELY GREAT CONDITION. THE SLEEVE IS BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN, SHINEY AND SQUARE WITH NO RING-WEAR OR SEAM SPLITS BOTH INSIDE AND OUT AND THE ONLY DRAW-BACK BEING A SMALL STICKER ON THE INSIDE TOP LEFT HAND CORNER BUT IT IS NOT VERY NOTICEABLE AND MAY JUST BE REMOVABLE BUT I SUSPECT IT IS COVERING A NAME! AS FOR THE RECORD THIS IS PRESSED ON ORIGINAL THICK HEAVY QUALITY BRITISH VINYL AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND SOUNDS FABULOUS IT DOES HAVE ONE SMALL NICK ON THE 3rd TRACK SIDE ONE AND IF YOU LITEN HARD YOU CAN JUST HEAR 3 OR 4 CLICKS BUT APART FROM THAT IT'S A GREAT COPY WITH THE SOUND QUALITY BEING AS YOU WOULD EXPECT :- LOUD, BRIGHT AND DISTORTION FREE WITH A CLARITY OF SOUND THAT IS LITERALLY "MUSIC TO YOUR EARS! AND AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO HEAR AGAIN! ...
