Description
Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting LPs in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. A nice original copy of this rare UK album. from 1971.
Pictures are my own photos of the items for sale. Photos are part of the description, have a good look.
Cover - is still good, but various minor flaws - On the front - two sticker removal residues top right of front. Discoloured from age and normal handling. Old bends to all 4 corners, and several scallop creases. Not quite flat towards right side, slight ripples - I'm guessing this is due to shoving it into someone's tightly-packed collection. Little creases in from the edges. On the back - similarly discoloured, and not quite flat towards the opening. NOT torn, split or written-on. Insert (a 2 x 1 paper foldover) is present, in good condition.
Record - Is generally very good, but not perfect. Label damage round the edges, as pictured - other side label is fine. On side A, I see a lightest kind of fingernail mark on track 4 and just going into track 5. There's a light stylus scratch on track 1 and 3 (bounced over track 2!). There is are scratches along the grooves at the very beginning of track one - what I think of as scoring, or played-with-a-nail, so I have play-tested that part - doesn't jump or stick, but very audible for a few rotations, and audible in background during the first three-quarters of a minute. On side B, there is a light fingernail mark going from end of track 1, to the start of track 3. The above info is from my usual kind of visual inspection (described below). Looking at it under a spotlight reveals more surface marks, so I let side one play on, to get a more general idea of how it plays. Firstly, the music sounds nice and clear, as it should, record is not worn-out. I heard a few crackles, which may have been the scratch on track 3, and a little background crackling at the same point. After that, only about three moderate individual crackles altogether - very good audio indeed, doesn't crackle in quiet parts, and quite a lot of it is quiet. I played it quite loud, on my posh hi-fi.
These go for up to £165 in top condition.
I have been collecting records for 50 years (when finances allowed!), and now it's time to sell-up. I bought them mostly around local shops (second-hand), but sometimes from e-bay, and sometimes new, for my favourite bands. Note that I'm in UK, so records are UK issue, unless I say different.
When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't usually do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.
Postage at cost within UK - £2.95. Happy to do combined postage wherever practical.
I'm happy to send this overseas, see below for details, if bidding from outside UK.
Dispatch will usually be "next day".
Collection in person is welcome.
I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad.
Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.
They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.
This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices. Combined postage may or may not be possible through the Program - if e-bay shows combined postage for their courier job, I'll do combined postage for the transit inside UK. I can't see information about this until you pay.
International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.
If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.
International postage to the following countries will be shown (this is the latest list that I've seen - lotta countries!)
Australia Austria Belgium Bulgaria Canada Croatia Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hungary Ireland Israel Italy Japan Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands New Zealand Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand Turkey Norway Poland Portugal Romania Russia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden, United States, Antigua & Barbuda Aruba Bangladesh Barbados Belize Bermuda Bolivia Brunei Darussalam Cambodia Cayman Islands Dominica Ecuador Egypt French Guiana Gibraltar Grenada Guadeloupe Guernsey Iceland Jersey Jordan Liechtenstein Macau Maldives Martinique Monaco Montserrat Nicaragua Oman Pakistan Paraguay Peru Reunion Saint Kitts & Nevis Saint Lucia Sri Lanka and Turks & Caicos Islands
International postage plus applicable customs charges will probably be shown to buyers in the following non-EU countries - E-Bay collects customs duty for the receiving country: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Russia and USA, and wherever else import duty is appropriate - e.g. Norway.
I WILL DEFINITELY NOT post to countries that are not included in the above lists, and I don't send to China.
