Description
This is a real piece of history... the one and only single ever released by Bay Area traditional heavy metal band Anvil Chorus (featuring members of Heathen and Metal Church), titled "Blondes In Black", which is unplayed and in absolute MINT condition. Even better, it comes in the original press package from 1983 that was sent out to about 100 magazines and press people along with the 7", with everything intact! Coming in a yellow two-pocket folder, the press package contains the 7" single (which features "Blondes In Black" and "Once Again") with an insert containing lyrics for both songs, and the vinyl was pressed on 1982 by Leviathan Records, and also comes with an extra inserted review from Kerrang! magazine in January 1983. The band line-up at the time featured Aaron Zimpel on vocals (the original drummer for Metal Church), guitarist Doug Piercy (who afterwards would found Heathen and play on their first two albums), guitarist Thaen Rasmussen (who also later played in Heathen on their "Victims Of Deception" record), and female keyboardist Gere Fenellie. In addition, the press kit features an 8x10 black and white band photo of the group in their six-piece line-up, as well as a one-page "Statement" about the band, six individual one-page "band member profiles" covering each musician, their birthdate, employment history, musical influences, favorite books/films, hobbies and a photo, plus there are also 2 pages of press clippings from BAM (Bay Area Magazine) and Kerrang!, both from early 1983. There is even a business card inserted for the band's "Personal Manager" at the time, Larry Schorr. The kit is in excellent condition. Anvil Chorus recently put out their first-ever album "The Killing Sun", which even featured a new version of "Once Again".
