Description
Up for auction is Chuck Berrys 1st LP (Chess 1426). This is a very difficult record to find in a nice condition. Cover would grade a close NM- if not for the bottom left corner which appears to have been bumped against something. There are no seam splits and virtually no ring wear. The front is very clean and the back is also very clean. The left bottom corner which shows the bend about 1" into the cover is lightly fuzzed....all other three corners are quite nice. I would grade this cover a strong VG and only falls out of the NM- range due to the corner bend. There is light edge wear on the opening side in one small area. The record is a strong VG plus with very nice gloss and only a couple scuffs which do not affect play. The Label is also very nice with no writing. This is a very nice early record and very collectible; a nice addition for early rock and roll.
