Description
This is the second LP by Audience and the first on the Charisma label.
Gatefold sleeve is non-laminated but the card both inside and out is of the glossy variety as opposed to a matt finish. No rips, splits on the spine or elsewhere, sticker tears, significant creases, markings or writing that I can see. So it's an intact solid example and although both 'mouth' openings are pretty good, what it does have is wear on the edges and corners; check the photos. I guess such external wear has to be expected for something in circulation approaching 50 years of age. Condition wise I rate it 7/10.
The pink labels have the scroll logo which denote original 1970 issue. Spindle holes are clean and tight with evidence of just a handful of plays as witnessed by the spindle 'snail tracking' when searching for the hole. On the adjacent run-off grooves, the machine etching shows CAS 1012 A-2U and CAS 1012 B-2U on the respective sides.
On to the vinyl itself and I will use a previous listing description of mine albeit with a few tweaks as the condition is so similar, viz: the record is flat with no dishing and fresh and shiny in appearance. At first glance it looks minty but of course needs to be angled under a searching and unforgiving light to check further. In this particular case the plastic shows faint scuff, paper and handling marks. But I am by necessity playing the devils' advocate as it really is in decent nick and I give the vinyl an EXC- rating or 8 /10 numerically.
Finally, the inner sleeve is the plain original 'MADE IN GB / PATENT' issue with a folded rear and smooth insides. It has the expected age browning and minor creases but is otherwise in good clean, unmarked and untorn nick.
