ATOMIC ROOSTER "Nice 'n Greasy" 1973 UK DAWN 1st PRESS FULLY LAMINATED SLEEVE, BARELY PLAYED, BEAUTIFUL COPY
ATOMIC ROOSTER
Nice 'n' Greasy
HERE WE HAVE A SUPERB, UK DAWN (DNLS 3049) FIRST PRESSING (August 1973) OF ATOMIC ROOSTER'S TREMENDOUS "Nice 'n' Greasy" LP, THEIR LAST STUDIO ALBUM (of the period) AND ONE OF THEIR RAREST ON VINYL, ESPECIALLY IN SUCH STUNNING CONDITION
Atomic Rooster experienced several lineup changes during their initial tenure in the early 1970s, with Nice 'n' Greasy being the band's last before disbanding.
By this time the band's musical direction had shifted from hard rock and progressive rock to a style more closely resembling blues/funk and the addition of Chris Farlowe gives the music an aggressive edge, while John Mandella's superb guitar work blends perfectly with Vincent Crane's blues fueled Hammond organ and funky electric piano
PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WHICH DELIVERS CRYSTAL CLEAR, DEEP, RICH AUDIO WITH AN IMPRESSIVE CUT - SOUNDS SENSATIONAL THROUGHOUT - DEEP AND BLUESY
THE LP HAS THE FIRST ISSUE LILAC DAWN LABELS
FIRST PRESS MATRIX: DNLS 3049 A2?G / DNLS 3049 B-1?G
VERY EARLY STAMPERS/MOTHERS: J/1 and K/1
AND IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED SINGLE COVER (there are no printers credits as normal for early 1970s Pye releases) WHICH IS IN BEAUTIFUL, PRACTICALLY MINT CONDITION WITH A DEEP, DEEP GLASS-LIKE GLOSSY FINISH
A STUNNING 1973 UK FIRST PRESSING OF ATOMIC ROOSTER'S RAREST LP AND A FINER COPY WOULD BE VERY HARD TO LOCATE INDEED - VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (it may be quite a while before you see another one as fine as this)
Chris Farlowe: vocals
Vincent Crane: Hammond organ, electric piano, piano, ARP synthesizer
Johnny Mandala: electric guitar
Rick Parnell: drums, percussion
Side 1:
1. "All Across the Country" (Crane) - 5:13
2. "Save Me" (Crane) - 3:14
3. "Voodoo in You" (Jackie Avery) - 7:05
4. "Goodbye Planet Earth" (Mandala) - 4:10
Side 2:
1. "Take One Toke" (Crane) - 5:00
2. "Can't Find a Reason" (Crane) - 4:30
3. "Ear in the Snow" (Crane) - 6:12
4. "Satan's Wheel" (Crane) - 6:32
LABELS: The labels are CLEAN, BRIGHT and UNMARKED with only ONE mega light and hardly visible spindle trace on one label. THIS COPY HAS CLEARLY HARDLY EVER BEEN PLAYED
VINYL Visual: The surfaces are CLEAN and BRIGHT and retain their DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN. There are just one or two (mega) light marks which have little audio consequence - the LP plays BEAUTIFULLY throughout
VINYL Audio: OUTSTANDING - CRYSTAL CLEAR, DEEP, RICH VIBRANT SOUND - FANTASTIC CUT. There are NO scratches, NO sticks, NO jumps, just a few light background clicks/pops - absolutely nothing major or ever intrusive- the playback is SUPERB and the sound quality SENSATIONAL with NO groove-wear and NO distortion (in my opinion its probably been played just once or twice). A REALLY BEAUTIFUL COPY. Must be critically graded EXCELLENT+ for audio. I GUARANTEE A FINER COPY WOULD BE PRETTY HARD TO LOCATE INDEED. NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page)
SLEEVE: The cover is in NEAR MINT condition, if not better - practically AS-NEW with NO edge or spine wear and only one light and extremely minor crease to the top corner (please see photos). The laminated surfaces have a BEAUTIFUL, GLASS-LIKE GLOSS with NO rubbing or wear at all. STUNNING SLEEVE
PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I USUALLY TAKE QUITE A FEW SO YOU CAN GET A CLEAR INDICATION OF EVERY DETAIL OF THE RECORD AND SLEEVE
I HAVE UPLOADED AS MANY PICTURES AS I CAN BUT I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SUPPLY ANY ADDITIONAL PHOTOS ON REQUEST
BEAUTIFUL UK FIRST PRESSING OF ATOMIC ROOSTER'S RAREST LP IN SUPERB CONDITION - A FINER COPY I THINK WOULD BE VERY HARD TO LOCATE INDEED - VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
AS WITH ALL MY RECORDS THIS HAS A LOW START PRICE AND NO RESERVE
