ORIGINAL EARLY BLUE NOTE LP WITH "EAR" SYMBOL, MASTERED BY "RVG", AND 47 WEST 63rd NYC ADDRESS ON LABEL.
COVER HAS 47 WEST 63rd Street, New York 23, N.Y. on the back  as well.
HEAVYWEIGHT, LAMINATED COVER IS IN VG+ CONDITION: THERE IS DAMAGE TO THE RIGHTHAND EDGE (NOT VISIBLE IN THE SCAN).
HEAVY, STIFF VINYL IS IN VG+/VG++ CONDITION, AND IT PLAYS WITH SOME LIGHT SCRATCHINESS FROM TIME TO TIME.
DEEP GROOVE PRESSING, TOO. GREAT CONDITION OVERALL FOR AN ALBUM THAT IS NOW OVER HALF A CENTURY OLD!

Surging, declarative hard bop from a founder in the style. The late '50s were a prime period for Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, and this group features emerging stars Lee Morgan(trumpet) and Bobby Timmons (piano), plus some of the better uptempo arrangements in the Blakey book.

RECORD GRADING POLICY

MINT = like new or near new with only one or two small insignificant defects, a 9 or better on a 1-10 scale

EXCELLENT = Would be Near Mint, except for a couple of light hairlines or scuffs, which do not affect play

VG++ = still a very nice record with all or nearly all of its original gloss but may have a few more light, surface marks, hairlines, needle tracks or the like which should not materially affect play

VG+ = a nice, but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches. It probably plays with a few pops, but has no serious problems.

VG = a well-used record that still should sound OK when played, but may have moderate surface noise, pops, etc.

VG- = a very well-worn record that plays through without skipping, but will do until a better copy comes along.

Good = not actually good at all but probably will play through but with much in the way of surface noise, pops, crackles, etc. Still, will have no cracks, chips or the like

Fair = you are getting this record just to own but not to play

Poor = the sky's the limit, generally I will discard a record this bad (and sell the cover, jacket or sleeve alone) unless the label holds some particular interest

PLEASE NOTE: We have set our shipping prices to cover costs on an average basis. You may be charged slightly more - or less - than the actual cost of postage; Priority postage varies according to destination, records and jackets vary in weight, all of which makes it impossible to set an exact "correct" price for all customers, especially internationally. We ship all LP's in new (unused) custom LP mailers. We pack records with filler pads, placing the disc in an inner sleeve outside the cover to prevent seam splitting in transit. Part of our postage fee covers the cost of the mailer and pads (which currently costs us up to a dollar per).
