ART BLAKEY "Orgy In Rhythm” RVG, DG, P, LAM, Blue Note 1554 Mono Vinyl
This is the first edition, 1957, "RVG” etched, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, P-pressing of Art Blakey’s “Orgy In Rhythm, Vol. 1” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 1554.
VINYL plays very well, nearly silent, cleanly throughout except: Side 1, #1, repeating tick throughout from soft to loud to soft. Side 1, #2, light left channel tick. Side 2, largely clean with occasional pops or ticks, otherwise clean. Ensemble sections are very dynamic and clear. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Very Good gloss. Many hairline marks, none feelable except 1” on Side 1, #1 feelable. (If you can't feel it you won't hear it). The Deep Groove "47 West 63rd" labels are generally clean with spindle marks. LAMINATED COVER is in good shape, corners worn. Top and bottom seams show much cracking but no splits. Small tape on top seam near opening. Spine nearly perfect, cracks near bottom. Laminate peeling at opening. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23, N.Y." back jacket has stains, aging. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON Ultrasonic CLEANER.
