Private tape. ****** K7:m- / Cov:ex ****** Legendary anthology from the depths of Swiss valleys curated and edited by Anton Bruhin for the obscure ExLibris Records. Never offered on ebay before and impossible to find Anton Bruhin private cassette edition with hand-written labels. This tape includes five Jews Harp instrumental tracks by Bruhin as well as other radical players from remote areas of Switzerland. In the late 1970s Anton Bruhin was asked to edit a record of folk and ethnic music, documenting the use of Jews Harp in Switzerland. Bruhin climbed up the mountains in order to record some of the most obscure, old Jews Harp players. Those mysterious sounds were issued in 1979 on a record LP titled "Maultrommel, Mundhermonika, Kamm". Very few copies were also released on tape. The cassette includes 3 solo Jews Harp tracks where Anton Bruhin plays themes from the "Vom Goldabfischer" LP, plus 2 massive, maximal and resonating duos with W. Gwerder, recorded in 1979 at Radio Schweiz International. Anton Bruhin is an artist and composer from Zurich, Switzerland, who was well-known to a very limited circle of people who had the chance to listen to his four wonderful LP records issued between 1969 and 1979. Rather by chance, Bruhin started to occupy himself in the late sixties with the Jews Harp. His interest for this instrument caused him to travel all around the world tracing out other Jews Harp players. Nowadays, he is in contact with the Jews Harp Centre in Yakutsk (in northeastern Siberia) and he is on friendly terms with Jews Harp players in Japan, Hungary and Austria. Anton Bruhin is always looking for something new. He plays during concerts on his self-made electric Jews Harp and employs different resonators like recently developed tubes filled with water.
