Description
This is the highly prized original 1983 release of New York hardcore band's ANTIDOTE's seminal 7" EP - "Life Is One" / "Nazi Youth" / "Real Deal" / "Foreign Job Lot" c/w "Zero Mentality" / "Got Me On The Line" / "Die At War" / "Something Must Be Done" on the band's own Antidote Records label (cat. ARI 1) on BLACK vinyl. This release, limited to 1000 copies, is very difficult to find.
"Along with The Abused, The Mob, early Agnostic Front, and even Urban Waste, Antidote's sound typifies early '80s New York hardcore. Fast, unrelenting and uncompromising, peppered with the requisite New York-styled breakdowns, Thou Shalt Not Kill is short, sweet, and to-the-point. Originally released as a 7" EP in 1982, the disc sees the band hammering down eight tracks in a hair over nine minutes. Of course, no review of the disc would be complete without a mention of former Misfit Arthur Googie (Walk Among Us) on drums and a young John Joseph (Cro-Mags) found supplying backing vocals on "Real Deal.""
The record and lyric insert are in MINT condition, and the former appears unplayed. I grade the singlefold sleeve NEAR MINT because of slight rubbing over the label. This is still far and away the best condition copy of this very scarce and collectible record I've ever seen!
