Various and sundry label variations exist among Dylan’s prodigious LP output, but absolutely none are as unique or rare as this textured or embossed or RAISED EYE RELIEF Columbia label logo pressing. A repeated pattern of Columbia’s "eye" logo runs in a grid pattern diagonally across the center of the label, which is textured to the touch, and raised or embossed above the rest of the surface. How and why this variation was pressed is anybody’s guess, but the collectors I’ve spoken with believe it to be some sort of experimental label most likely produced at a midwestern American plant known to have issued other Columbia anomalies. How many were actually pressed is anybody’s guess. I know of only 5 in existence. The label itself is difficult to photograph accurately (like lighting and photographing the dark side of the moon) and I have provided several examples, each of which were lit from various angles, sometimes exaggerating the color and print scheme, from its true Columbia red pigment that this item actually is. This is one of the rarest commercially issued Dylan LPs ever pressed and is priced accordingly. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. INSURANCE IS RECOMMENDED FOR THIS PURCHASE. All vinyl records from VinylKing46 (eBay’s ORIGINAL VINYLKING) are pre-cleaned and inserted into paper inner sleeves before mailing to Buyer. ALL DISCS ARE PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED ON A VPI RECORD CLEANING MACHINE. Discs are packaged separately from LP sleeve (unless sealed) to protect against seam splitting. LP jackets are inserted into mylar outer sleeves and albums are shipped in LP-specific boxes and packed with bubble wrap.
