ANNE BRIGGS LP (Topic Records)

Anne Briggs' first LP released in 1971 on Topic Records (Cat. no. 12T 207).  This is a very special record.  It is a spine-tingling performance from first to last by the doyen of english folk singing.  A spartan recording - with 6 tracks unaccompanied; the other tracks having guitar or bouzouki accompaniment by Briggs herself, except Willie O Winsbury, on which John Moynihan is also credited with bouzouki.

The tracks are:

Side One: Blackwater Side; The Snow It Melts The Soonest; Willie O Winsbury; Go Your Way; and Thorneymoor Woods

Side Two:  The Cuckoo; Reynardine; Young Tambling; Living By The Water; and Maa Bonny Lad

The vinyl is in terrific condition - nice and flat and without any marks or scratches of any kind.  The blue Topic Records label looks as good as the day the record was bought by me on its release.  The LP cover is in very good to excellent condition.  It has some ringing - but not major - from being stored in a very large record collection over a number of years.  The cover has about four very minor creases, typical of record covers from this time.  The spine of the cover is very good indeed: LP title and label details are clear and unblemished.  The very edge of the sleeve, where the 'clarifoil' covering falls short of completely covering the front cover is not in quite the same condition as the rest of LP cover (sorry about all the 'covers' in that sentence but there dosn't seem any other way to explain this!).

One very careful owner only.
