Description
ALMA COGAN, HOW ABOUT LOVE! ORIG 1962 UK COLUMBIA LP, RARE STEREO, FEMALE VOCAL
Alma Cogan – How About Love!Alma Cogan (19 May 1932 - 26 October 1966) was an English singer of traditional pop music in the 1950s and early 1960s. Dubbed the "Girl with the Giggle in Her Voice", she was the highest paid British female entertainer of her era. She was one of the first UK recording artists to appear frequently on television, where her powerful voice could be showcased along with her bubbly personality and dramatic costumes.
This is a very hard to find album, especially this stereo version, so I thought I would put it up for auction although it’s probably best used as a collection filler until a better copy comes along!!!!
It has a lot of noticeable scratches/scrapes etc, and plays with some background crackle and clicks/pops here and there. Saying that it’s still a good listen. See description below.
Side One: I Can't Give You Anything But Love; I've Never Been In Love Before; The Lady's In Love With You; I'm In The Mood For Love; Somebody Loves Me; Can't Help Falling In Love With You.
Side Two: Hello Young Lovers; Our Love Affair; Love Me As Though There Were No Tomorrow; Love Is Just Around The Corner; Let Me Love You; If Love Were All.
The album is on Columbia Records, SCX 3459. Matrix side one: YAX 955-3 (stamped). Matrix side two: YAX 956-1 (stamped).
1962. UK pressing. Stereo.
See photos for more info.
Condition: (as Record Collector's grading system)
Vinyl side 1: good (has quite a few visible scratch/scrape marks and plays with some background crackle and clicks/pops here and there, plays with no jumps or sticks).
Vinyl side 2: good (has quite a few visible scratch/scrape marks and plays with some background crackle and clicks/pops here and there, plays with no jumps or sticks).
Cover (front laminated, flipback): good (splits on top and bottom edges at the opening side which have been repaired with sellotape on the inside, some rubbing and a few small laminate creases at the spine edge, some aging/discolouring on back).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. Payment strictly by PayPal only. Postal discounts available for multiple purchases - Please email for details. 526 (GS 6.6.6 (526))
