Description
This is a mint condition limited edition copy of 180gram vinyl copy of Aerosmith’s Pump album, signed by Steven Tyler in silver sharpie.
This was given to me for attending the launch of Tyler’s motorcycle company, Dirico Motorcycles in Boston in 2009 (see my crappy pic of Tyler on bike above). Please see my other auction for an engraved Dirico/Steven Tyler dog tag from the same event.
The album has never been played or opened, except for Tyler to sign. This is a great audiophile copy of a landmark album with a rare signature.
AEROSMITH Pump (Limited 2008 US 10-track LP pressed on 180gram Vinyl, issued as part of the 'Back To Black 60th Vinyl Anniversary' series, originally released in 1989 and including the singles 'Love In An Elevator' and 'Janie's Got A Gun'.
Selling seven million copies in the US alone, 1989’s Pump re-established the Boston quintet as a major commercial and critical force, awarding the band their first Grammy in the process. Propelled by the singles (and genre-defining videos) for ‘Janie’s Got A Gun’, ‘What It Takes’, ‘The Other Side’ and of course, ‘Love In An Elevator’, the 12 month tour to support the album would help it become the fourth best-selling record of 1990. Having released a dozen platinum selling gems since their 1973 debut, the band also found time to make appearances on MTV’s ‘Wayne’s World’ as well as guests in cartoon form at Moe’s Tavern on The Simpsons. ‘Pump’ was voted second best album of 1989 by Kerrang! magazine.
