Description
ACTIVE DOG "Rat race" b/w "Good filthy fun" 45
One of the great Canadian punk rarities, this two song killer came out of the incredibly fertile late '70's Vancouver scene that gave the world DOA, Subhumans, Pointed Sticks and so many more. Released by the band in a pressing of 500 in 1979, the single was comped on Killed By Death #17. The band also contributed a track to 1979's excellent "Vancouver complication" LP, but while they didn't last long, the members continued to serve in newer bands-- Active Dog guitarist/singer Buck Cherry fronting the Modernettes while two other members went on playing in the Pointed Sticks, which is a pretty serious punk rock pedigree.
This copy of the 45 is in very nice shape, with some minor surface marks showing up under direct light but not affecting play at all. The record was played tonight on an excellent stereo to ensure no significant defects were present immediately before writing this description.
The soft card cover is in excellent shape apart from some minor fraying along the top edge, and includes the "previously frozen" sticker affixed to the upper right back corner. Also included is the original insert, with band history and credits, also in excellent condition. The record itself has been stored in a new inner sleeve out the cover and will be packaged safely for shipping.
Shipping includes delivery confirmation and insurance, winning bidder can choose a cheaper shipping option at their own risk.
Bid with confidence and please see my other auctions for more rare punk from Vancouver and elsewhere. Shipping can be combined on multiple items.
