PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. MEGA RARE mid '60s utterly strange UNDERGROUND West Coast artifact featuring the ROBBIE THE WEREWOLF who went on to play with the great los Angeles psych band "CLEAR LIGHT" (who cut but one collectible LP in 1967.)
Copies of ROBBIE THE WEREWOLF simply NEVER turn up, finding a copy in any condition is a special find ...
Although the weird and wonderful prevails at "ESTERDAMIN," few albums are odder than this strange slab of vinyl. Taped live in 1964 at the Waleback in Santa Monica, California, the obscenely rare disc stars Robbie Robison plucking an acoustic guitar and singing kooky tunes about Halloween characters, sex, drinking and drugs that were quite radical for its day.Robbie's mad and manical tenor, supplanted with his insane lyrics, are both entertaining and ridiculous, pointing towards an album you'll either love or hate. Vampires, a horny devil, Count Dracula, marijuana, a little brother encountering sharks, tip-toeing through the tulips, a flamenco story, tooling the streets of Transylvania, a warped version of "Tom Dooley," and of course the werewolf himself, are just some of wackiness to be experienced throughout the album. The laughter from the audience indicates they were having a good time and appreciated Robbie's freaky sense of humor, making the package an intimate and genuine affair. The marriage of folk music and comedy isn't too unique, but Robbie's left-field topics are certainly novel, and that itself places "At The Waleback" in a singular category. The album was never released on a proper label and a very small number of copies were cut, so due to supply and demand, value has spiraled through the roof as time goes by.
Sixties rock fans (and that naturally includes you) probably already know that Robbie The Werewolf met with further fame as guitarist for Clear Light, whose 1967 self-titled album is a psychedelic masterpiece. And if you continue to connect the dots, Robbie's wife, Barbara was the vocalist for the Peanut Butter Conspiracy, another great band from the acid rock era.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: VG hard one to grade as it actually LOOKS quite expectable with protective outer plastic It does contain shelf wear and light spider-web creasing along spine, maybe 'touched-up' along seams? Hard to tell, and back cover has a discoloration line at top right (see photo #2) ... all said, not bad when considering mega rarity and overall acceptable visuals here ... there are no delete marks, no split seams ...overall a VERY collection worthy rarity ...
The vinyl: Rated: VG(+) maybe better, as has only some light scuffs, but also the vinyl is lightly uneven, even so tracks just fine as light, bit of stray light surface here or there, nothing pronounced at all and overall very acceptable/enjoyable audio ... both private labels are clean
