·         M (Mint): Implica que el disco está nuevo o como nuevo. A new or like new record, unplayed record

·         NM (Near Mint): Casi perfecto, con pequeños desperfectos que apenas se notan, probablemente sin uso o con apenas uso. Almost new and probably an unplayed record

·         VG+(Very Good Plus):

o   Record: La superficie del disco muestra un ligero desgaste y pueden tener leves marcas que no afecten su escucha. Puede tener algún chasquido o algo de ruido de fondo. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect one's listening experiences or even some minimum background noise

o   Portada y hojas interiores. La portada, y las hojas de crédito pueden mostrar leves desperfectos o marcas (en el caso de discos americanos) que implican que en un momento dado fue vendido con descuento. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount

·         VG (Very Good):

o   Record: Copia usada en buen estado de conservación. El ruido de fondo es más pronunciado, sobre todo entre las canciones y en los pasajes más tranquilos. A used, reasonable copy. There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice

o   Cover: La cubierta puede tener algunos defectos visibles a simple vista como rasgones o escritura. Cover can have one or two defects noticeable at first sight (tears, writing, etc...)

·         VG- (Very Good Minus): Los desperfectos son más pronunciados y el ruido de fondo es más perfectible y continuado. Significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise.

·         G (Good):

o   Record: Él estado es simplemente bueno, el disco no está rayado pero no tiene un sonido limpio y puede tener incluso algún pequeño salto. En estos casos G+ o G- definen el grado de estas imperfecciones. A record simply good, still payable but not very enjoyable. It has not repetitions but even can play with light skips. In those cases, G+ or G- shows the grade of this unclean experience

o   Cover: Portada con claros signos de uso (portada rasgada, a, o incluso rota). Cover has important signs of wear as big tears or big writing or even a missing portion

·         Fair: El disco tiene claros signos de uso. Aunque todavía puede usarse tiene evidentes saltos y mucho ruido de superficie. Record has heavy signs of wear that can produce skips and surface noise. Cover has important signs of wear as a big missing portion

·         Poor: El disco no puede usarse y puede estar incluso roto. Record is unplayable (because a crack, missing portion, etc.). Cover has important signs of wear as a big missing portion

·         Strong: Se usa este término cuando un disco está entre dos calificaciones, añadiendo el término "strong" a la más baja de ellas. A term used when the record is between two grading descriptions (added to the lower grade)

Algunas abreviaturas que pueden especificar el estado del disco:

·         bc: back cover, portada trasera

·         cb: Esquinas despuntadas. Corner blunting.

·         cc: Esquinas cortadas. Cut corner.

·         cr: Creases. Arrugas.

·         cw: cover wear.

·         dh: drill hole.

·         fc: Front cover, Portada delantera

·         gf: gatefold.

·         hev: heavy.

·         ins: Encarte, hoja de letras. info, notes, lyrics and credits insert.

·         lbl: label.

·         lm: laminated. Laminada

·         md: moisture damage; wrinkling and/or stains caused by absorption of a liquid.

·         min: minor.

·         obc: on back cover.

·         olbl: on labels.

·         ofc: on front cover.

·         ph: punch hole.

·         promo: DJ record, not for sale, radio stations, and demo copy.

·         prostp: promo stamp; gold embossed notice on back cover indicating that item is a promo.

·         rc: rounded corner or used corner caused by improper handling or storage.

·         re: reissue.

·         rw: ringwear, marca del círculo del label en la portada.

·         se/seam: la union de la portada y la contraportada por arriba y por abajo; line where the edges touch each other at bottom or top of cover.

·         sew: seamwear.

·         shrink: shrinkwrap still on cover.

·         sm: small.

·         soc: sticker or price tag on cover.

·         sobc: sticker or price tag on back cover.

·         sol: sticker on label, (side 1, side 2 or both sides).

·         sp: spine; el lomo del disco.

·         spw: spine wear.

·         split: opening of one or more inches along spine or seams.

·         tse: taped seam of one or more inches according to split length.

·         tsp: taped spine of one or more inches according to split length.

·         wd: water damage; desperfectos producidos por la humedad

·         woc: writing on cover.
