Description
Relive the magic of a day at 2-year old Disneyland with this rare and collectible, original first edition, 1957 album and book in very good condition! Walt Disney and Cliff Edwards (the voice of Jiminy Cricket) narrate as they tour Disneyland, ride in a horse drawn car down Main Street, take a boat ride in Adventureland, explore Frontierland, ride a space ship in Tomorrowland, and enjoy Fantasyland.
The musical accompaniment was composed by the trio of Salvador "Tutti" Camarata, George Bruns, and Oliver Wallace, 3 musical pros personally hired by Walt Disney to compose music for many of Disney's feature films, TV animation, Disney Record scores, and Disneyland Park attractions. Oliver Wallace composed the music for Dumbo, Peter Pan, Cinderella + Alice in Wonderland. Tutti Camerata produced over 300 records while with Walt Disney and George Bruns composed the music for Sleeping Beauty, Disney Park attractions, The Enchanted Tiki Room, Country Bear Jamboree, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
This collector item is not the 1958 reissue but a verifiable, original 1957 first issue as original Disneyland Record releases had Purple Labels on the vinyl albums. Thereafter, later releases came out with yellow, rainbow Disneyland Record labels. Please see photos.
The Book inside the gatefold is in Excellent (EX) condition. The 8 pages are still attached and fully intact with no tears, no stains, no marks, no writing and no damage of any sort, and the original artwork and colors are bright and beautiful.
This Record's vinyl condition is Very Good Plus (VG+). The glossy and shiny black vinyl has a few normal light scuffs and very light scratches that don't go into the record. Please see photos.
The Jacket's condition is Very Good (VG). The outside back and front covers are clean, bright and very attractive but have light discoloration on the edges; there is a piece of tape at the bottom on the back; light "age rippling" on the front; and overall age wear front and back. However it looks amazing for its advanced age. Please see photos.
