The 80s gave us many great bands that rocked. The category of hard rock and heavy metal splintered into several sub-genres. All of a sudden, you had thrash metal, power metal, death metal, black metal, hair and glam metal, pop metal, blues metal...the list seemed endless. As long as they rocked, I didn't care WHAT they were considered!

Three 80s metal bands are featured in today's rockin' good deal. First up is Ratt. By 1986, LA's Ratt released their third studio album, and named it 'Dancing Undercover'. It was the first one to move the hot lady to the back, instead of the front cover! 'Dancing Undercover' gave us the hits: "Body Talk", "Dance", and "Slip of the Lip". It's a really good record, and firmly established Ratt as one of the 80s premier metal groups! (RIP Robbin. You helped light the fire that started the metal movement in the 80s. You are missed!)

Next up is the 1985 release from Twisted Sister, and called 'Come Out and Play' (a saying from the movie 'The Warriors'). It's their fourth studio album, and the cover is wild and trippy. And a pop-up! Open the manhole cover, and Dee Snider lunges out at you. And WHAT is he wearing? Lol The album is full of special guests, such as Alice Cooper, Billy Joel, Don Dokken, and more! They remake an old song by a girl group (the Shangri-las), and pretty much own it ("Leader of the Pack"). And check out the wild and weird video for "Be Chrool To Your Skuel"! The band will still occasionally play shows, as most of the guys are still around. (RIP A.J. You pounded those skins like there was no tomorrow, and had immense talent. You are missed!)

Last, we have the second Dio Sabbath album, and the tenth studio album, from Black Sabbath, titled 'Mob Rules'! It's a stellar release, and is a perfect example of 80s metal. The songs are really good, and Dio never sounded better! The title track is featured in the animated movie 'Heavy Metal', and "Country Girl", "Sign of the Southern Cross", and "Turn Up the Night" are all incredible songs! (RIP Dio. You set the bar high for future metal singers and musicians. We miss your philanthropy, and your talent!)

Ratt's vinyl looks pretty good, but has several light surface marks on both sides. I never played this, and I'm not sure of the sound quality. I can, though, if anybody REALLY needs to know how this sounds. Jacket looking really, really good, and comes with original inner sleeve. The Twisted Sister vinyl looks great, and is still all shiny and clean! This too, comes with its original inner sleeve. Black Sabbath's vinyl doesn't look too bad, but there are a few really light scratches on it, and that may affect sound. At this point, a new 2022 remaster of 'Mob Rules' came out on CD, so that's the way to go if you want perfect sound. Vinyl seems to be in demand these days for the artwork, so if that's the case with you, then you're in luck! And you'll get ALL THREE LPs!
