Description
I try to giver my 78s friends a real treat now and again and we have one right here. This is music hall legend Harry Champion on the Scala label. Born in the East End of London in 1865,William Crump began his musical career as Will Conray. In 1882 he made his debut at the Royal Victoria Music Hall in Bethnal Green and around this time, blacked up and sang plantation songs. In 1887 he changed his name again, this time to Harry Champion and he was well and truly on that proverbial map. By 1920 though, the music hall as we knew it was all but dried up and Harry retired, focusing on his coach business. He left a wealth of incredible recordings of which this is one. The titles are; The Old High Hat That I Got Married In/The Natty Little Patch Behind The disc is jolly nice condition and plays very well on both sides. Make this little bit of music hall magic yours right now and remember one of the greatest names in music hall....Mr Harry Champion. NOTE:Harry`s 78s exchange hands for incredible figures, especially in the US,so check out my asking price for true value. Enjoy 78s Enjoy vintage
