78 RPM ORIGINAL METAL RECORD PRESS -Florentine March -Sousa’s Band -Copper Stamp.


This is an amazing piece that I have not seen before. a metal press used to make a playable record.


It is a very heavy and thick piece of copper with silver or nickel plating on the business side. When this was in use, i believe it was pressed into a shellac blank and a new record was born.


On the original, but damaged protective sleeve, it says; Florentine March Sousa’s Band.

12-28-09. (Assuming 1909)


Also written “No Good” so you likely would not get a great sounding pressing.


This is a very cool and unusual piece that would look fantastic in a frame hanging in your music room. Great conversation starter with a historical story.
