Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. LED ZEPPELIN~LED ZEPPELIN~ULTRA RARE US ORIG’69 ATLANTIC 1ST PRESS RCA RECORD CLUB ERROR LABEL SHRINK
ATLANTIC LABEL VARIATION WAS USED ON A FEW TITLES DURING 1968 AND EARLY 1969, WHERE THE ATCO LABEL BLANK WAS USED INSTEAD OF THE ATLANTIC LABEL BLANK. THIS IS AN RCA RECORD CLUB PRESSING.
PLEASE NOTE: PURPLE AT THE TOP AND GOLD AT THE BOTTOM ATLANTIC RECORDS LABELS, WITH A BLACK PRINTING. A WHITE BAND THROUGH THE LABEL SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE CENTER, AS ON THE ATCO LABEL AND UNLIKE THE ATLANTIC DESIGN OF THE TIME WHERE THE WHITE BAND WAS CENTERED. THE BLACK PRINTING GRAPHICS WERE THE SAME AS THE “BLACK FAN LABEL” , EXCEPT THE WORD “STEREO” APPEARING ON THE LEFT SIDE UNDER THE WHITE BAND RUNNING SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE MIDDLE OF THE LABEL (LIKE THE ATCO STEREO LABEL AND UNLIKE THE BLACK FAN LABEL’S POSITIONING OF “STEREO” IN WHITE LETTERS AT THE TOP OF THE LABEL). THIS LABEL IS RARE AND ONLY APPEARED ON A FEW TITLES FROM AROUND 8130 TO 8200. BOTH 'TIME PEACE' BY THE RASCALS (SD 8190) AND THE FIRST LED ZEPPELIN ALBUM (SD 8216) ARE KNOWN TO HAVE BEEN PRESSED WITH THIS MISPRINT LABEL.
THE MISPRINT LABEL LED ZEPPELIN ALBUM IS INCREDIBLY RARE SINCE NOT ONLY THE LABEL CONTAINS MISPRINTS, BUT SIDE 1 OF THE ALBUM IS A DIFFERENT MIX FROM THE REGULAR PRESSING. ALSO SIDE 2 DOES SOUND A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE STANDARD ISSUE. THERE IS A LONG PAUSE BETWEEN “BLACK MOUNTAIN SIDE” AND “COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN”, WHERE THE STANDARD ISSUE HAD NO SILENCE AT ALL. THERE IS ALSO AN UNUSUALLY LONG SILENCE BETWEEN “COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN” AND “I CAN’T QUIT YOU BABY” -- MUCH LONGER THAN WAS ON THE STANDARD ISSUE.
The running time for track 5 side 2, "HOW MANY ORE TIMES" is listed on back cover as 3:30 when is actually 8:30 and broken up into two tracks instead of one!
***DIFFERENT MIXES FROM THE REGULAR PRESSING***
***ORIGINAL 'ATCO' PURPLE~GOLD MISPRINT LABEL***

- In August 1968, the Yardbirds had completely disbanded. Guitarist Jimmy Page, The Yardbirds' sole remaining member, was left with rights to the group’s name and contractual obligations for a series of concerts in Scandinavia. For his new band, Page recruited bassist John Paul Jones, vocalist Robert Plant and drummer John Bonham. During September 1968, the group toured Scandinavia as The New Yardbirds, performing some old Yardbirds material as well as new songs such as "Communication Breakdown", "I Can't Quit You Baby", "You Shook Me", "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and "How Many More Times". The month after they returned to England, October 1968, Page changed the band's name to
- Led Zeppelin, and the group entered Olympic Studios in London to record this first album.
- L E D Z E P P E L I N had a fully formed, distinctive sound from the outset, as this eponymous debut illustrates. Taking the heavy, distorted electric blues of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Cream to an extreme, Zeppelin created a majestic, powerful brand of guitar rock constructed around simple, memorable riffs and lumbering rhythms. But the key to the group's attack was subtlety: it wasn't just an onslaught of guitar noise, it was shaded and textured, filled with alternating dynamics and tempos. As Led Zeppelin proves, the group was capable of such multi-layered music from the start. Although the extended psychedelic blues of "Dazed and Confused," "You Shook Me," and "I Can't Quit You Baby" often gather the most attention, the remainder of the album is a better indication of what would come later. "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" shifts from folky verses to pummeling choruses; "Good Times Bad Times" and "How Many More Times" have groovy, bluesy shuffles; "Your Time Is Gonna Come" is an anthemic hard rocker; "Black Mountain Side" is pure English folk; and "Communication Breakdown" is a frenzied rocker with an aggressive attack. Although the album isn't as varied as some of their later efforts, it nevertheless marked a significant turning point in the evolution of hard rock.
