2 Spike Jones Standard Radio Transcription Discs.
These 16 inch, 33 1/3 rpm discs were issued to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!
"Spike Jones & His City Slickers" catalog number R-151 "Cocktails For Two", "Mary Lou", "Paddlin' Madelin' Home", "She Broke My Heart In Three Places", "They Go Wild Simply Wild Over Me" .. the song titles on side two are obscured but I believe they are "And The Great Big Saw Came Nearer", "It Had To Be You", "And His Rocking Horse Ran Away", "Oh How She Lied" & an unidentified song
"Spike Jones' Other Orchestra" catalog number Z-213 "Spike Speaks", "Rhumba Rhapsody", "E-Bob-O-Lee-Bop", "Minka", "Laura", "Lovely", "Warsaw Concerto", "September Song", "Hardly Ever Amber"
Discs are in very good condition with very good or better sound. There is some damage on two labels that is visible in the photos. There is a small chip on the side of disc Z-213 which is visible in the photo that does not effect play
Due to their size, 16 inch discs will not play on most standard turntables. For $10 I can include a CD transfer of both discs for the buyer
