Virus ~ "Revelation" gained legendary KRAUTROCK status, up there with three figure$ collectible & similar albums as;  Black Widow Park, Hairy Chapter, Night Sun, Silberbart, Dies Irae, Electric Sandwich, etc...

This quintet called VIRUS recorded just two albums, this their first, is lethal.

Produced with excellent professionalism by legendary Konrad Plank in Munich Germany - where so much of Germany's "spacier" rock was being recorded at the turn of 1970. You might want to think of a cross of Floyd (for the heavy freak-out a'bouts) with some early 70's UK heavy progressive between Purple (Jon Lord for the organs) and early Sabbath (Geezer Butler on bass), or Raw Material for the long improvisations...loaded with acid soaked Hendrix guitar adventures. 

The lengthy opener is a good 12-min+ improvisation based on the Stones' Paint It Black (a fave of ours and of many prog-heads as this was one of their most covered tracks), but this is maybe one of the best homage ever done to the track (along with fellow early prog-psych band Jody Grind UK).

Elsewhere, Endless Game (also above the 12-min mark) starts very slowly with great surging organs underlined by a superb and delicate guitar, being replaced gradually by a whirling flute and bass riffs and then heavy freaking passages not far away from the best of acid-psych in the prime Krautrock way of all things early '70s; simply great!

Burning Candle is however a much shorter and harder track and can be thought of Alvin Lee jamming with Ten Years After. The 10-min+ "Hungry Looser" is like a again sensibly harder rocking Dies Irae with ripping passages...

The album closes on a 7-min+ psych-o-deliria turning your head around, "Only Two Light Years Left." This heavily Hawkwind-Floyd influenced track is simply awesome and much recommended if you are about to spark a Jamaican laced 'cigar.'

                 CONDITION: The cover: rated: VG++ laminated and delicate, has mild previous use and still collectible. there is a small crinkle line at bottom left corner but not on front. There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing  ...

The vinyl: Rated: visually about VG+ but tricky as has only relatively light scuffs, bits of surface amount to very little on the whole; plays fantastic with excellent clean audio results and that's a big deal for this pressing IF found at all is either wasted by now or mint copies have sold for up to $700 and never cheap. By the way, both BASF labels are clean
