Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +21,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. - TOP COPY
- "I saw The Renegades at my works Christmas party in 1964, where the lead singer emerged from a coffin at the front singing. Happy, crazy days"
- 1966 top copy of the hands-down best RENEGADES LP which is also their most difficult to find ... seems to be only issued in The Netherlands, almost certainly for purposes to be included among the happening Dutch '66 era beat-rock explosion = (Dutch) "Outsiders", "Q'65" , "Zipps", "Cuby & The Blizzards", "Group 1850" , "Sounds Of Imaker" etc etc...was said Dutch teens went berserk with the infamous ROLLING STONES riot concert, then maximum energy of the Pretty Things, and fast forward...
.....................................................
- While almost unknown in Britain, Birmingham's own "RENEGADES" had much success in Europe; Germany, Finland and Italy during the 1960s where they attracted a large following of fans. Incredibly, the group's popularity in those countries was to rival that of The Beatles!
- The groups' strong visual image of wearing stage outfits styled on American Civil War era cavalry uniforms and playing a repertoire of many rock and R&B standards like their own versions of 'What'd I Say' and 'Thirteen Women' (of which a promo video exists) only enhanced their appeal. They also wrote songs of their own that were to become big hits in Finland.
The first Renegades single to storm the Finnish charts in 1964 was a twelve-bar blues influenced number titled 'Cadillac' that reached Number Two. It was said to have been a remake of Vince Taylor's 'Brand New Cadillac'. The Renegade's Cadillac was an amazingly simple and effective arrangement, not unlike The Troggs famous 'Wild Thing' and suited their singer Kim Brown's bluesy vocal perfectly. The song became a staple of The Renegades stage show, ultimately becoming their most well-known record. A fan's recounting of a Renegades mid- sixties concert was exciting with vocalist Kim Brown emerging from a coffin.
Though "My Heart Must Do the Crying" may be the most classic song by The Renegades, and no doubt their second album "POP" released in '66 Holland was to be their best original album and most difficult to find, often not even getting mentioned as existing in their discography.
"This Little Girl", utilizing the rhythm pattern of "Take Five", is clearly a moderate artistic success while "Hey Look Over Here", "Tell Me If It's Over" and "Love, Love, Love" (side note: Beatles "All You Need Is Love" was yet to be released) are quite nice as well. "Too Many Heartaches" features the rare lead vocal by the guitarist Denys Gibson; the song is a fun-tinged Buddy Holly imitation. Whereas the first Renegades albums had included lots of covers, "Pop" contains only one – "Nobody's Child", which turns out to be the lesser track of the whole album.
All told their album "POP" makes the grade as a solid keeper collectible - when the listener hears both sides it's hard to deny the beat-rock charms within...
