The 13th Floor Elevators, Psychedelic Sounds. Original LP, IA, Houston Texas, MONO LP - 1A No.1
This album was purchased in San Antonio way back when. It is the original, genuine, real thing, NOT A RE-ISSUE. From 1966 or 1967, it’s not dated.
The album cover still has its original clear cellophane (?) wrapping which is torn a little on one edge. The original price tags are on it: MFG list price, $4.97, but MM sold it for $2.99. The cover looks to be in prefect shape under the clear wrapping.
On the back it says MONO LP - 1A No.1
The album cover says, “Printing by Tanner ‘n’ Texas, Inc. - 1422 West Poplar Street - San Antonio, Texas 78207”
The label on the record is yellow with green. The ID scratched into the vinyl on Side one says: IA - 5001 Side 1 S-1264
On side 2: E-9 I-A 5002 Re S-1265 Re
The original owner printed her name in small neat letters on both sides of the record label: “Wilkinson”.
There is a light sort of mark on the vinyl; you can see it in the photo at about “8 o’clock”. The man at the used record store told me the mark was superficial and had little effect on the quality. He rated the record Very Fine plus. Almost near mint. The record hasn’t been played for decades; it has been safely tucked away.
