Description
Various - 0222 A Compilation of Cardiff Bands.
UK vinyl album record on Popdy Records (popdy 101) from 1989. A compilation of bands playing around Cardiff, South Wales at the time. The title '0222' refers to the Cardiff phone code of that era. There are varying genres on show, from r'n'b, rock 'n' roll, pop, soul etc. However, also includes four bands of the C86-Indie-Twee-Punk-DIY-Private Press-Indiepop persuasion, Cwrw Bach-Mae'n OK (Welsh Languge), Papa's New Faith-This House, Crumblowers-Gwair Gwair Ni Yw'r Crumblowers (Welsh Language) and U Thant-Tren (Welsh Language). Full list of bands are: Snatch It Back, Bomb and Dagger, Cwrw Bach, Papa's New Faith, The Red Hot Pokers, Crumblowers, The Watermelons, The Howling Sleepers, Geraint Jarman, Madassa, The Pier, U Thant and The Vipers.
I have included low bit (64) sound files of the record below. All pictures and sound files are of the actual record you are bidding on.
Condition--Cover - Ex / Vinyl - VG+ (for some reason the first track on both sides have marks that affect play (clicks, background, jumps etc), the tracks affected are not of the four bands specially mentioned above). Best way of knowing condition of these tracks is to listen to sounclips of all four below.
Cwrw Bach-Mae'n OK
Papa's New Faith-This House
Crumblowers-Gwair Gwair Ni Yw'r Crumblowers
U Thant-Tren
Record condition gradings are done visually only, unless I state what the record actually plays like. This is because I don’t have time to play everything, so bear this in mind. I am quite strict grading so you can feel confident in my conclusions. Anyone unhappy with my gradings can return item for refund. If you wish to check my feedback you will find I have not had one reported case of anyone unhappy with my gradings. I tend to be very conservative, as a general guide my gradings are thus:
Ex:-I only give this grade to records that are virtually untouched without any blemishes or defects, and with no marks, scuffs or scratches on the vinyl.
VG++:-This grade indicates an almost perfect record, but the sleeve might have minimal signs of wear and the vinyl may show small signs of play.
VG+:-The sleeve might have signs of wear, though any seam wear/splits will be stated. The vinyl might have signs of wear, but only from being played relatively infrequentely.
VG:-The sleeve will have wear, though any seam splits will be stated. The vinyl will have wear, but no major damage/scratches that affect play, wear will have happened through frequent play, resulting in some background noise.
As a rule I would not sell any vinyl below VG condition, unless it was particularly rare or as expected (eg reggae singles), for the most part anything VG or below I would play before grading, for a more accurate realization of sound quality.
Will post anywhere in the world, except South America, I'm afraid. All records are sent out in manufactured mailing envelopes with cardboard stiffeners, the vinyl taken out of its sleeve. Therefore I cannot be held responsible for damage by any postal service. If an item is obviously worth a lot of money think of asking me the added cost to insure it beforehand.
