Description
You are bidding on a US pressing copy of the Concert for Bangladesh triple LP box set released by Apple Records in 1971. This is STCX 3385. This record came out of the collection of a central Texas music fan, known to many musicians/fellow music lovers, who tragically lost his life late last year. He frequently attended concerts and shows here in central Texas and elsewhere. He enjoyed meeting musicians and liked to get their autographs, such as this record. It has been signed by Ravi Shankar, Alla Rakah, and Joey Molland & Mike Gibbons from Badfinger! The signatures are on the front of the box lid (see picture) and Ravi Shankar and Alla Rakah also signed the front of the box set booklet (see picture). All the signatures were signed in either black or blue pen with the exception of Alla Rakah's signatures, which were signed in black marker. All The records are in VG condition. The record labels are in NM condition. This box set has all the original plain brown record inner sleeves, two of which are in VG+ condition and the other is in VG condition with a 2 inch seam split on the bottom seam as well as a small tear near the center hole of the sleeve. There are a few creases (most of which are about an inch) along the spine of the jacket, as well as along the top and bottom seams. the box set booklet is in VG condition with some light wear, and the pages are very well still intact with the staples along the spine. The outer box itself is in VG condition with some shelfwear and edgewear. The lower righthand corner of the box lid has a seam split. Along with the box set we have included a small pamphlet that we found inside the box for Ravi Shankar's concert at the Carver Museum in San Antonio in the 1980's, quite possibly from where his and Alla Rakah's signatures were signed. We process and mail all orders Monday through Friday. We are happy to combine shipping on multiple items. Special shipping notice: As of July 28th, 2013, we are no longer offering shipping to Italy due to continued problems with packages getting to their proper destination in a timely basis (if at all!). We are sorry we have to do this, but unfortunately we have seen a recent spike in the amount of packages being shipped to Italy that have either gone missing entirely or have taken excessively long to reach their destination.
We visually grade all our records for sale and grade both the record and the jacket. We go by general standards for grading, which are:
Mint (M) - an unplayed, new copy of a record. no visual defects!
Near Mint (NM) - a nearly perfect record that has usually only been played 1-3 times, in "like new" condition.
Very Good + (VG+) - record still in excellent condition but has minor signs of wear such as surface scuffs/light scratches that don't affect the play. jacket has minor signs of wear such as light ringwear, edgewear, shelfwear, and/or light creasing.
Very Good (VG) - record has more wear than VG+ and may have some slight surface noise, light pops, some scuffs or scratches. generally still a great playing copy. jacket may have more wear, writing, sticker residue, punch out/cut out holes or corners.
Very Good - (VG-) - record has noticeable groove wear, surface noise, scratches, and/or scuffs but still a decent playing copy. jacket has heavier wear and may have a small split seam.
Good + and Good (G+ and G) - record still plays without skipping but has considerable amounts of groove wear, surface noise, scuffs, and/or scratches. jacket has alot of wear and some defects such as split seams, heavy creasing, writing, marks, sticker residue, etc...
