Description
up for auction is a stereo copy of the beatles "a hard day's night" from my personal collection.
this copy is on the not so common united artists labelwithout the circles, but not the white one (see pictures).
the cover is in vg+ condition. there is some snowing to the front cover and some minor snowing and light ring wear to the back cover. the hard cardboard sleeve is firm and sharp. this record does not appear to have been played a great deal based on the sleeve opening and the play quality (see below). I am a very conservative grader.
now to the vinyl - side one is glossy and neat. there are some hairline marks but nothing tactile. under halogen light i can see a smudge type mark between the end of track 2 and the start of track 3. there is no effect to audibility as a result of this. the label is nm with the slightest spider lines around the spindle. the spindle hole is tight (as all spindle holes should be) and has no evidence of playing frivolity despite the age of this lp. I grade it a vg+, again conservatively.
side 2 is much the same save that there is no mark between tracks 2 and 3. i still grade side 2 vg+. label is nm.
the play is nm on both sides. in the lead in to side 1 there is light crackle. the tracks all play perfect and between track... ahhh silence. i have listened to this lp right through twice since pulling it out of my collection and it is a record i would be happy to buy. there is a beautiful deep stereo sound and it sits perfectly flat as it spins on my rega p3.
this is a great album which is a player and has many years in it. like most lp's it could benefit from a nitty gritty clean but that would only be cosmetic because the play quality is superb. i have put the disc in a new polymer lined paper inner which i use on all my collection. these are high quality inners that i prefer to any others.
postage varies depending on location. please email me for a quote. i'm not interested in making money out of postage. i'll send it at what it costs me including the record mailer and no more. vinyl is a beautiful thing and the more of us spinning vinyl instead of cd's (and god forbid digital downloads) the better music longevity will be. i would not sell a record i would not be happy buying myself. if there are any problems, then i kindly ask that you do not leave negative feedback. i will sort any problem out and if you are not happy for any reason i'm always happy to take one of my treasures back, with you not out of pocket.
