Inplain brown paper sleeve which is folded at all corners and split on one seam

SIDE1. Slight mark that may be a very light scratch about 1cm long near outer edgeabove T of Topic but whole side needs a clean with suitable materials to besure so I haven’t done it.

SIDE2. Cant see anything wrong except again needing a correct clean (I don’t havethe right stuff to do this so have left it rather than chance ruining thesurface)

Historicdocument given that not many would have been produced and the significance ofPaul Robeson in the workers and civil rights movements.

TheDailyWorker was a newspaper published in New York City by the Communist Party USA,

Paul Robeson 1898 to 1976.

Paul Leroy Robeson was an Americanbass baritone concert artist and stage and film actor who became famous bothfor his cultural accomplishments and for his political activism. Educated atRutgers College and Columbia University, he was also a star athlete in hisyouth. He also studied Swahili and linguistics at the School of Oriental andAfrican Studies, London in 1934. His political activities began with hisinvolvement with unemployed workers and anti-imperialist students whom he metin Britain and continued with support for the Loyalist cause in the SpanishCivil War and his opposition to fascism. In the United States he also becameactive in the Civil Rights Movement and other social justice campaigns. Hissympathies for the Soviet Union and for communism, and his criticism of theUnited States government and its foreign policies, caused him to be blacklistedduring the McCarthy era.
