Description
This is a played one sided acetate test pressing. The runoff on the back has the following etched: BACK PLATE. MFG BY SPECIALTY RECORDS. The blank side has a strange pattern on the vinyl that can be seen very well in the photos. I played it hoping to discover an unknown early Led Zeppelin recording. Nope. It's just a single tone that sounds like a flute and it's very scratchy. Oh, well. I guess I'll have to wait to retire. I'm listening to the play side as I'm writing this and the 45 sounds great - no noise except when the needle drops you hear scratches before the music starts and after it's over the runoff is scratchy sounding. Super 60's fidelity. I don't know Led Zeppelin well enough to say whether this is the original mix or if it's different - I know it ends abruptly before "with a purple operator" so it's definitely made for AM radio play. The time of the record is 2:40. The runoff on the side with the music has the following etched in that's easy to see: A-17575 (then a blank space) - 4. FZ (space) w. I can also see an AT etched in. That's all that I can see. I make no claims as to condition or anything else and the record is being sold as is with no returns or refunds. I don't come across many of these so I don't know anything more but I will be happy to answer any questions. Please don't ask me to end the auction early. I think this is rare and may be collectible.
