Description
Black label with silver text, deep groove, original. 8 tracks, recorded in NYC in 1956. Leader, Zoot Sims, tenor and alto sax; Johnny Williams, piano; Gus Johnson, drums; Knobby Totah, bass.
Cover: Fair The spine has completely split and is repaired with scotch tape. 9" & 1"split on the bottom edge, partially repaired with scotch tape. The top edge appears to have been split, possibly the entire edge and is partially repaired with scotch tape. Moderate aging on the back cover. Crease near 1 corner of of the back cover.
Record: VG++ or Better Visually show no wear. 2 surface rub marks on Side 2, none on Side 1. These do not affect the sound. The record appears to have been played only a few times despite the cover wear. 1 faint click, barely audible on Side 1, Track 2 with 2 light clicks at the end of the track, also, barely audible. On Side 2, 1 faint click near the end of Track 1 with some groove noise at the last revolution fade out at the end of the track. Several clicks on Track 2 towards midtrack. Minor groove noise on the first 2 or 3 revolutions on Track 4. This is also barely audible . A few light clicks during the bass solo and slight groove noise on the last revolution. While I have rather completely detailed the record condition, the overall noise is slight and for the most part, barely audible. Audibly checked
