Description
Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting records in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. I may have obscure things that you didn't even know you wanted!
I have 8 LPs by ZZ Top, which I have made into two lots. Condition is generally very good. This auction lot has their early albums, and the other lot has the Best Of (which is tracks from these albums) plus albums that were issued after the Best Of. The copy of "Fandango" is UK London label - London copies of their albums are rarer than Warner Bros ones - the story being, Warners signed them in around 1978, and all copies of their early albums made after that, are on Warner Bros. When Eliminator hit big in 1983, people got interested in the back-catalog - they were basically only big in Texas before that! - whereas the London label copies only got sold to early fans who were buying their records before 1978.
Pictures are my own photos of the items for sale. Photos are part of the description, have a good look.
Tejas - Cover is very good, but a little bit missing from the surface on the front (towards top right corner) and a mark next to that - so perhaps a sticker removal. Kind of a triple gatefold pouch cover. When opened-out, pouch is on the right, and the other two panels are single-thickness card. Strong card inner sleeve with lyrics and a photo, in excellent condition. Record - side one looks in excellent condition, and on side two just a light scratch on part of track 1 and part of track 2.
Fandango - London Records - Cover - is generally good, but a sticker removal on front has taken the shine off, and a little row of white bits where the ink came off too. A crease up-and-down parallel with spine. A couple of little dents on the front. Nice poly-lined picture inner sleeve. Record - has little stickers on the labels. Side one has a scratch on the last part of track 3. Side two has a few small marks and light scratches.
Rio Grande Mud - Cover - is very good. Record - side one is in excellent condition, side two has just a tiny scratch at the end of track 4.
Tres Hombres - Cover - has a price sticker on front, is gatefold. There's a bit of a bend up-and-down parallel with the spine - that thing that happens if you push / file away an album into an already tightly-packed collection. A few little spots and impacts, and a tiny nick on top edge of the back. Nice custom poly-lined inner sleeve. Record - Both sides look in excellent condition.
When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.
Postage at cost within UK - £3.00 plus 50p for a proper record mailer with two stiffener sheets of cardboard (or whatever's appropriate). Happy to do combined postage wherever practical. I'll charge you what it costs me - so anything up to six (or so) LPs would still be the same charge, £3.50. Can't combine the two ZZ Top lots - too heavy. I'm happy to send this overseas. See below for details, if bidding from outside UK - YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS STUFF.
Dispatch will usually be "next day".
Collection in person is welcome.
I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad. Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.
They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.
This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices.
E-Bay UK tells me, they do NOT do combined postage in the Global Shipping Programme. Charges to the customer for delivery and customs charges are whatever you're told they are - if you don't want to pay the postal / courier charges individually for the items, then do not bid. HOWEVER, if you win several items, and pay for them all in the same payment, their system may well spot this and do combined postage. If this happens, pay what you're told, and I will refund the excess postage paid to me - if you buy three LPs, I would be getting three lots of £3.50, but I can send all in one parcel, so I only need one lot of £3.50, usually. The exception is, if the items you buy weigh more than 2 kilos altogether, I need to make two parcels - there is a special cheap postage rate in UK, for parcels under 2 kilos. Overseas customers - please DON'T request an invoice - I can't make one, and it screws-up the e-bay system.
International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.
If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.
International postage to the following countries will be shown (this is the latest list that I've seen - lotta countries!)
Australia Austria Belgium Bulgaria Canada Croatia Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hungary Ireland Israel Italy Japan Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands New Zealand Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand Turkey Norway Poland Portugal Romania Russia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden, United States, Antigua & Barbuda Aruba Bangladesh Barbados Belize Bermuda Bolivia Brunei Darussalam Cambodia Cayman Islands Dominica Ecuador Egypt French Guiana Gibraltar Grenada Guadeloupe Guernsey Iceland Jersey Jordan Liechtenstein Macau Maldives Martinique Monaco Montserrat Nicaragua Oman Pakistan Paraguay Peru Reunion Saint Kitts & Nevis Saint Lucia Sri Lanka and Turks & Caicos Islands
Applicable customs charges will probably be shown to buyers in non-EU countries - E-Bay collects customs duty for the receiving country, wherever import duty is appropriate. If you don't want to pay the customs charges, do not bid.
I don't send to China (because I prefer not to), and I also don't send to Japan, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru, as importation of vinyl records is not permitted in their customs regulations.
