Young People's Concert Box Set SIGNED by Leonard Bernstein 1962
My late aunt Deborah Ishlon was a PR executive who rose to Coordinator of Creative Services for Columbia Records in the late 50s and early 60s. She handled PR for Leonard Bernstein, as well as Glenn Gould, Igor Stravinsky and Milton Babbitt.
One of the mementos she treasured was this boxed set of Young People's Concert signed and dedicated to her by "Lenny." It was probably given to her toward the end of 1962, as the inscription reads, "For Debbie with thanks and happy 1963, Love Lenny"
The slipcase shows moderate signs of wear. The signed book is in very good condition with no inside markings. The 45 rpm records are in excellent condition, probably never played. But the set is mismatched (which may explain why Mr. Bernstein had spare copies to give as mementos). It includes:
- One disc with sides 1 & 2
- MISSING the disc with sides 3 & 4
- DUPLICATE discs with sides 5 & 6
- One disc with sides 7 & 8
- One disc with sides 9 & 10
