The Yamaha SHS-10 is a Keytar (a musical keyboard that can be held like a guitar) manufactured by Yamaha and released in the late 1980s.
It has a small-sized keyboard with 32 minikeys and a pitch-bend wheel, an internal Frequency Modulation (usually referred to as FM) synthesizer offering 25 different voices with 6-note polyphony, two operators, and a very basic chord sequencer. It also has a loudspeaker. The demo inside is from "Wham" Last Christmas.

Das Yamaha SHS-10 ist ein keytar ( musical keyboard welches wie eine Gitarre gespielt werden kann).
Es hat ein kleines Keyboard mit 32 Minitasten und einem Pitch-Bend-Rad, einen internen FM Synthesizer mit 25 verschiedenen, 6-stimmig polyphonen Sounds mit zwei Operatoren.
Weiterhin ist ein kleiner Akkord-Sequencer eingebaut, mit welchem man eigene Akkorde aufzeichnen und im gewählten Rhytmusstil der Begleitautomatik abspielen kann. Er hat hierfür drei Speicherbanken.
Die interne Tonerzeugung kann über den eingebauten Lautsprecher oder mittels Anschluss der eingebauten 6,3-Klinkenbuchse über eine PA wiedergegeben werden.
Der große Vorteil des SHS-10 ist die eingebaute MIDI-Buchse. Mit dem MIDI-Out kann das Keytar an jede externe MIDI-Quelle angeschlossen werden und diese auch steuern.
Die Daten des Sustain und des Portamento-Schalters werden ebenso übermittelt, wie das Vibrato und das Pitch-Bend.
Über die eingebaute Klinkenbuchse kann auch ein Kopfhörer angeschlossen werden.
Das Keyboard kann entweder über 6 AA-Batterien oder das mitgelieferte Netzteil betrieben werden.
Mittels ein Gitarrengurtes kann das Keyboard wie eine Gitarre getragen und gespielt werden.
Als besonderes Schmankerl ist als Demo-song der Hit "Last Christmas" von Wham! implementiert.
